The Ronson “Varaflame, Scandia" line of butane lighters is from the late 1950s. The Ronson lighter company was started by owner and inventor, Louis V. Aronson. Ronson lighters were the most popular lighters in the United States from the 1930s -1960s, often seen in movies and used by stars such as Humphrey Bogart and Johnny Carson. This Mid-Century Modern “Varaflame” cigarette case with lighter is solid teak with aluminum accents. The aluminum lid on top slides open, and the lighter is a removable chrome Ronson butane lighter. Label reads “VARAFLAME, SCANDIA” fashioned by Ronson. This is a classic Mid-Century lighter and cigarette case for your table or desktop.
